The Association of History and Archeology of Sabrosa is a non-profit institution whose scope focuses on the elaboration, implementation and consolidation of cultural and scientific initiatives, especially in the areas of social and human sciences and the environment, headquartered within the Portuguese territory, specifically in the municipality of Sabrosa, in the district of Vila Real, in the region of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, a territory rich in traditions, heritage, history and culture.

It is the mission of the association, as they describe the statutes, to promote the study and dissemination of the historical, archaeological and natural heritage of the municipality of Sabrosa, to promote and encourage cultural, scientific, historical, archaeological and educational exchange between national and international entities, to develop activities of scientific field in the areas of archeology, history, anthropology, dendrochronology, environment and territory, ethnography, education and cultural tourism, developing editorial activities, developing defense, protection and promotion of cultural, historical, archaeological and natural heritage, production and dissemination of scientific and cultural events, museum activities, among other initiatives.

It should also be noted that the Sabrosa Association of History and Archeology seeks, through pedagogical initiatives, to alert the community and locals first of all to the importance of heritage protection and, secondly, to arouse the interest of the Mayan communities. young people, schools, associations and others about the historical legacy and its relevance to rethinking the future of all.
