Sra. da Veiga 3D MultiD PRO

-

The archaeological site of N. Senhora da Veiga is a mystical site, a ruined religious temple, but with a fantastic ancestry. The medieval building is located approximately 1200 meters from the place of Roalde, towards SE, in the parish of Paços, in Sabrosa. Medieval documentation refers to the building as a hermitage, however, it is significantly relevant that it appears referenced in the inquiries of the Panoias judges as early as 1258. The title of the document refers to “freegueisia de Sam Martinho d Anta”… diz-se que “na vila de Roalde see.jª. ermida e deuiã hj a terem clérigo..”
The chapel is currently made up of two compartments, the main one with an elongated rectangular plan, oriented in the SW (60º) direction, and another, smaller and quadrangular compartment, very destroyed. The building also has two typically Romanesque granite arches and a still preserved structure that allows us to conclude that the building would have a simple gable roof.
The project aims to digitally record all the preserved structures of the buildings and to assess, from an archaeological point of view, the contextualization of the building's surroundings.
