The archaeological site of Touças Graveyard, also called "Cemitério dos Mouros ”, inventoried by the DGPC with CNS: 4425, is located in the parish of São Martinho de Antas and Paradela de Guiães, in the municipality of Sabrosa, between the village of Garganta and the village of Vilar de Celas. The access to the place is made, in general, by the road that connects the village of Garganta to the village of Ludares, 450 meters from the inflection of this road, there is a rural path towards the village of Vilar de Celas, from which the archaeological site, which is about 350 meters away from this inflection, is signposted with an information sign.
The archaeological site is located in the footsteps of Serra de Ludares, Serra do Puchinho, Serra do Meio and Vale das Donas, at the altimetric level of 800 meters. It is a geologically integrated location in the granites and implanted, not in the valley itself, but in the middle slope, oriented towards North / Northwest.
A summary analysis of the national and international archaeological bibliography concluded that the archaeological site of the Necropolis of Touças has, in short, about two relevant references. The first, as we have already mentioned, was due to Albino dos Santos Pereira Lopo (Lopo, Apontamentos Arqueológicas, 1987), who, in 1912, paid a visit to the archaeological site and elaborated a sketch of the site and some considerations and descriptions of the site. The second reference to the site comes from the hand of António Alberto Huet de Bacelar Gonçalves (Gonçalves AH, 1992/1993) who, in a more general work, makes reference to the place, neglecting some of the information that Albino Lopo would have collected in the first quarter of the 20th century.
